This is the standard form of Fibreglass reinforcement used with polyester resin in hand lay up. The emulsion binder is dissolved by styrene in the resin and the Fibreglass is completely wet out with resin when the laminate almost becomes transparent.
The heavier the gram the stronger (but less conforming) the fibreglass matting will be. If you have a large, more flat piece you can go heavier (which reduces the layers you need) but if your piece has more curves and corners then it is best to use a lighter matt in smaller sections and build up the strength.
Best used with our laminating resins. Ensure a respirator is used in a well ventilated space.
